Multiple Earthquakes Rumble In Northern, Central Oklahoma

A pair of earthquakes rattled residents around Oklahoma, Saturday afternoon.<br />

A rash of earthquakes broke out around central and northern Oklahoma on Saturday.

The first quake rumbled in northern Oklahoma around 2:35 p.m. The 3.5 magnitude temblor struck one mile north northeast of the town of Cherokee, Okla., 100 miles north northwest of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of about seven miles.

A second earthquake trembled nine miles north northwest of Chandler, Okla., 40 miles northeast of the OKC metro, just before 3:30 p.m. The epicenter of the second quake was recorded at a depth of three miles.

Another earthquake, the largest of the three, rattled residents near the town of Langston, Okla. just after 5:30 p.m. This quake weighed in at 3.7 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located 10 miles north northwest of Langston, 44 miles north northeast of OKC, at a depth of just over two miles.

No damage or injuries were reported with any of Saturday's earthquakes.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.5 to 3 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans.
