A Moore mother is making Christmas wishes comes true, thanks to an international movement for Hurricane Sandy victims.

Dozens of families affected by the May 20th tornado got a special surprise by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

It's a story that's become an international sensation. New York based Charity, "The Secret Sandy Claus Project," has made its way to Moore. The mission is to help families struggling to make Christmas a reality.

"I'm pretty excited to see these faces," said Sonja Hughey.

Hughey and her family have had their own share of struggles since the Moore tornado, but for Sonja, Christmas day was her way of "paying it forward."

She's spent nearly a month pairing children with toys so they can be hand delivered on Christmas day. Her son Trey plays the role of Santa Claus, Sonja, is Mrs. Claus. All this inspired by a man from Brooklyn, New York. Michael Sciaraffo, dressed as Santa, delivered gifts himself to families affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Sonja is now a part of the Secret Sandy Claus Project.

Five-year-old Cassidy and her 11-year-old sister Madison have been waiting for this moment for weeks.

"Ohhhh! Shopping cart," said Madison. "Yea."

Madison was at Briarwood Elementary when the tornado hit. The two girls have been living in a one bedroom apartment with their mother Shelly and grandmother Vickie since the storm.

Both homes were destroyed.

"I know how tough it is. I'm a single mom of two girls and I feel blessed that you have chosen me to help," said Shelly McMullin. "I appreciate it. You have no idea. This means the world."

Sonja just happened to stumble across the New York charity looking for Christmas help for her own family. But now, she's had the opportunity to help dozens of children in her community, children who would otherwise have had very little or nothing on Christmas day.

"I can relate to her being a single mom," said Hughey. "I can relate to certain things, having girls, tough times, Christmas, the holidays."

With the help of the Secret Sandy Claus Project, Sonja has been able to help more than 140 children this Christmas affected by the Moore tornado.
