An ice storm warning has been issued for parts of Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma County on Friday.

The potential exists for a significant ice storm to impact many areas along and near I-44 now through Saturday afternoon.0.25" to 0.5" of ice combined with 15 mph winds is enough to cause tree limb damage, scattered utility interruptions and hazardous traveling conditions. 0.5" to 1.0" of ice is enough to cause numerous and prolonged utility interruptions, excessive tree limb damage and extremely hazardous traveling conditions. This worst case scenario is on the table.

Snow will begin to develop Saturday morning and afternoon across western portions of Oklahoma, spreading into central and northern Oklahoma Saturday afternoon and evening. Snowfall amounts will be heaviest near the Kansas-Oklahoma state line - enough to result in snow covered roadways. Totals for OKC and Tulsa will range from a trace to 1".
