Cracking down on red light and stop sign runners, the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says deputies will begin focusing on the issue through New Year's Eve.

Cracking down on red light and stop sign runners, the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says deputies will begin focusing on the issue through New Year's Eve.

The Sheriff says 53 people died across the state in 2012 because of a failure to yield.

There were a total of 12,326 failure to yield crashes that year, and December had the sixth highest amount crashes with 1021 incidents, according to the Sheriff's Office.
