This week News 9 told you about thieves taking a walker from a young boy in Norman. His grandmother was outraged, and so were many of our viewers.

Longfellow Middle School received dozens of phone calls from people wanting to help, and so did News 9. And on Friday, the students and faculty there got to give Bryan his big surprise.

You could feel the excitement in the hallways, as fellow classmates waited to make the big presentation.

"Well we put together a sign for him," said classmate Sarah Lafamoise. "And we're a group that's going to surprise him."

Meanwhile Bryan Morrow was in another classroom, not knowing what was in store.

"He's just a special kid," said classmate Patrick Geyer. "And I think he really deserves it."

One by one his classmates piled into his special education classroom, ready to teach him a lesson in human love and compassion. Little did they know he was about to teach them a lesson too, about the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

And with the help of the school mascot, Bryan finally got his surprise: A brand new walker to replace the one that was stolen.

"Thank you so very much," said Diana Morrow, who is his grandmother and caretaker. "I am so overwhelmed! This is both the worst week and the best week, all wrapped up into one."

In the end it was a pair of local doctors from Southwest Orthopedic & Reconstructive Specialists and Asbury Medical Supply who made sure Bryan got his walker before the weekend.

"We just got on the ball and knew he needed it quickly," said Rebekah Tokar with Southwest Orthopedic & Reconstructive Specialists. "So we did everything we could, pulled what strings we needed to get it to him."

And his grandmother can't thank them enough.

"The love has poured through," cried Diana Morrow. "And I thank everyone that is involved."

And nowhere is that more evident than in the classroom, with Bryan's smile saying it all.

Longfellow Middle School Assistant Principal Shelly Ellis says the school will use the extra money they received from the public to buy Bryan a second walker, which will be kept at the school. So that way Bryan can take his new walker home and not have to transport it every day on the bus.

And any extra money left over will be used to help the school's Special Olympics team buy uniforms and go to Regionals.
