A burglar's sweet tooth helped land him in jail. Oklahoma City police said Thursday Bobby Cranford broke into to a gift shop, stole several items and then took time to chow down on an ice cream sandwich.

Terry Haith owns the KOA gift shop in the 6200 block of S. Choctaw Road in Oklahoma City.

"We work hard for everything we have and for someone to just break-in and take whatever they want, you just feel very violated," Haith said.

The path the burglars took led straight to the freezer, where the treats were stashed.

"They decided they must have been hungry because they took an ice cream sandwich, opened it, ate it and threw it on the floor," said Haith.

Haith said he mostly cares about the missing cash from a donation jar for KOA Care Camps, which cater to kids with cancer. The jar had at least $50 inside, but the crooks' greed provided crucial evidence.

"When they broke into the Care Camp money, they cut themselves and bled on it so we got DNA on them," Haith explained.

Oklahoma City Police arrested serial burglar Bobby Cranford.

News 9 found numerous mug shots for Cranford's multiple burglary and stolen property convictions. Investigators said Cranford's latest loot also involved specialty knives, a flashlight, a toothbrush and a wooden gift box with a cross and scripture on it.

Cranford was out of prison for less than four months before he was arrested for this latest burglary.

"Three months and he already has a warrant out for him? Well, he wants to go back in is what it sounds like to me," Haith added.

Police said they have identified the other burglary suspect, but have not made an arrest and are not releasing the person's name yet.
