Police have identified the 31-year-old man who committed suicide Tuesday following a pursuit in southeast Oklahoma City.

Around 11:40 a.m. on October 1, police spotted Juddson Daniel Fanning in the area of S.E. 46th Street and High. He was wanted for domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, and second-degree robbery in Oklahoma County.

Fanning refused to stop when officers tried to pull over this car. The chase reached 100 mph on southbound Interstate 35. Police say the pursuit continued because Fanning was identified as "an armed and dangerous fleeing felon who posed a threat to the public."

Fanning eventually exited I-35 on Robinson in Norman. His car collided with another at 24th Avenue N.W. and Main. Fanning's vehicle was disabled. As officers approached Fanning's car, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fatally shot himself in the head.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is investigating the incident. No officers involved in the pursuit have been placed on administrative leave.

Two people who were in the vehicle hit by Fanning's car were treated at a local hospital and released.
