A Friday manhunt near Tecumseh turned up no results as police searched for a man accused of trying to run over three police officers.

Those officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on James Morgan AKA "Tater" before he got away.

Multiple police agencies covered a wide area along Highway 9 with no luck.

"All these police officers ... There's like 50 of them back there," area resident Elizabeth Giles said.

It all started when Tecumseh police tried arresting Morgan.

Morgan got behind the wheel and tried to plow over three officers, according to Tecumseh's assistant police chief. Police say one officer opened fire on Morgan's car before a short pursuit. Morgan crashed his car on a side road and was able to elude officers again, police say.

From the air and ground, the search continued until late Friday, but with all the man power ... some say it's only a matter of time.

"There's no point in running from police nowadays," said Giles. "It's not like it's Bonnie and Clyde and you can hide out anywhere. They're going to end up finding you."

Morgan was originally wanted on drug complaints. Now, officers say he can count on adding some additional felonies to his criminal background.

An Oklahoma City police helicopter was looking for Morgan with a night vision camera. Authorities ended their search just before 9:15 p.m. Friday with Morgan still on the run.
