A man from Harlingen, Texas, was killed after authorities say he fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed his pickup truck in Canadian County, Oklahoma, Friday morning.

It happened at 7:16 a.m. on US 270, just north of Jones Road in Canadian County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford Pickup driven by 28-year-old Adrian Cortez was northbound on US 270, when it ran off the roadway to the right. Cortez overcorrected to the left, then overcorrected to the right before running off the roadway in a broadslide.

The pickup struck several fence posts, vaulted, and came back down on its roof.
