A Broken Bow woman accused of a key role in the theft of five horses from Southern Arkansas University has changed her plea to guilty and is to be sentenced by a judge.

Court records show that 20-year-old Jaci Rae Jackson is to be sentenced September 9 in McCurtain County. She is charged with Bringing Stolen Property into the State, Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property, Cruelty to Animals and Second Degree Arson.

Jackson faced charges in Arkansas and Oklahoma over the 2011 horse thefts from the Magnolia, Arkansas campus. Four of the horses were found alive, but malnourished near Tom, Oklahoma and the fifth was found dead and cut into pieces.

Jackson's mother, Wendi Cox, was sentenced in March to 60 years in prison after a jury convicted her of theft in connection with the case.
