Heavy rain and severe thunderstorm rumbled through Oklahoma overnight, dumping anywhere from half an inch to more than four inches of rain in a matter of hours.

Flash flooding started around midnight in Oklahoma City, where rainfall rates reached upwards of three inches per hour. Several water rescues were needed as drivers became trapped in their cars during the deluge. Widespread power outages were also a concern as storms filled the sky with lightning.

Check power outages from OG&E.

The heavy rain ended just after 2 a.m., and the flash flooding threat ended soon after. More rain chances are on the way next week.
