The family of a woman gunned down in April by several law enforcement agencies sues Oklahoma City Police and others involved.

News 9 was the first to report the criminal investigation report is in the hands of the Oklahoma County District Attorney.

Lance and Barbre Stout, the parents of Stacie Stout filed the federal lawsuit July 19th. They claim the officers involved violated and failed to protect their daughters civil rights. Stacie's family wants to know exactly what happened on the night of their daughter's death and wants justice on her behalf.

Back in April, at least eight different law enforcement agencies were trying to serve a warrant when Christopher Stout, Stacie's boyfriend allegedly tried to run from members of a multi-agency task force. Investigators say seven officers then opened fire on the couple shooting both of them multiple times and killing them.

"She was a good girl," said Tina Belvin, Christopher Stouts aunt. "A good mother and a good wife."

Family members of the young couple spoke out a day after the two were killed at S.E. 44th and I-35.

"What did they do that was so bad, they felt they needed to die," said Belvin. "I just need that answered. We all need that answered."

Christopher Stout was arrested a number of times, and was wanted for burglary in Payne County. But Stacie did not have a warrant for her arrest and had no criminal record. To date, police still have not recovered a weapon.

Stacie's parents declined an on camera interview with News 9 at this time, but released a statement which read:

"While we are hesitant to engage in public comment about the tragic death of our daughter, we will confirm that, despite our lack of access to all the information collected by those attempting to reconstruct the events surrounding our daughter's death, we have grave misgivings about the propriety and legality of the actions of the law enforcement officials responsible for taking her life.

As such, we have filed an action in federal court in an attempt to come to know exactly what happened on the night of our daughter's death and to pursue justice on behalf of our daughter, whom we lost too soon, and on behalf of our granddaughter, who has lost more than can be easily reckoned."

Stacie Stout left behind a 2-year-old daughter.
