Oklahoma State's women's tennis team has released its schedule for the 2013-14 season, Cowgirl tennis coach Chris Young announced on Tuesday afternoon.

"This year's schedule is filled with ranked programs that will challenge our team and give us the ability to achieve all of our goals," Young said.

"We have quality tournaments in the fall and a spring that will see us face 15 opponents that finished last season with a national ranking. We are excited to open the spring in Hawaii, and return to the ITA Kickoff Weekend and the Blue-Gray Classic as well."

The Cowgirls will kick off their fall schedule at the Duke Invitational, Sept. 13-15, before competing at the Missouri Invitational and Air Force Invitational the following two weekends. Oklahoma State will appear at the ITA Central Region Championships in Norman beginning on Oct. 18. The Cowgirls wrap up the fall season with the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational and the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic.

The OSU cross country schedule was also released on Tuesday.

The defending national champion Cowboys will begin the chase for their fourth NCAA title in five years on Aug. 31, at the Tulsa Duels.

Both the men's and women's teams will look to win their fourth-straight Cowboy Jamboree titles, when the event descends on Stillwater, Sept. 28.

The season heats up in November with the Big 12 Championships in Waco on Nov. 2, and the NCAA Midwest Regional, which will be held in Ames, Iowa, on Nov. 15.

On Nov. 23, the NCAA Cross Country Championships return to Terre Haute, Ind.

Last season, the Cowboys had four All-Americans en route to taking home the NCAA team championship by 63 points, and the Cowgirls finished in 26th.

"The way we set up our schedule is a big part of what we do," OSU Coach Dave Smith said. "We try to schedule more locally to give our younger athletes a chance to run and compete for spots later in the year. We don't go to a lot of the early big invitationals where all the top teams come and duke it out. I don't want to have to run at peak performance that early. We want to build toward running our best at the NCAA Championships."
