Enid police arrest the owner of a strip club after officers found him intoxicated and allegedly firing off a gun at a golf course.

Police arrested Rick Andrew Childs Sr., 45, at Pheasant Run Golf Course in the early hours of Sunday, July 7.

Police were originally called to check out an abandoned motorcycle located at 1400 North Garland in Enid. When officers arrived, they found the motorcycle sitting on the roadway with the headlights on. Officers determined the motorcycle belonged to Childs, who is the owner of Wild Childs, a Gentlemen's Club in Enid.

As officers searched the area for Childs, they heard several gunshots coming from the golf course area. The SWAT team was called in to help in the search for the person firing the gun. After a two hour search, officers found Childs lying in the grass on the golf course. According to a police report, Childs told officers he "did not know what was going on or where he was at."

Childs didn't have any weapons on him. Officers searched the area and found two spent 45 caliber shell casings, a Springfield Armory XD-45 ACP handgun and a XD-45 caliber magazine in the area of where they found Childs. Police say the gun belonged to Childs.

Childs was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and public intoxication.
