The Holdenville Police Department and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have launched an investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in a Holdenville home early Monday morning.

Someone called 911 around 5:55 a.m. and told them to come to 218 Walnut Street. When officers arrived, they found the body of 38-year-old Gayland Moore. The body had sustained trauma, which indicated homicide.

The medical examiner is performing an autopsy to determine exactly how Moore died.

The homeowner has been detained and questioned, but police have not arrested anyone. The Holdenville Police Department requested OSBI assist with the case. Agents are now processing the crime scene and conducting interviews.
