A woman says she was beaten and pistol-whipped by her boyfriend in a northeast Oklahoma City home, but her friends who witnessed the attack refused to help her.

The woman told police she was playing dominos with friends on Tuesday, April 23. She said her boyfriend, 48-year-old Roger Cooper, suddenly raced into the house and accused her of breaking into his apartment and stealing his shoes.

The victim said Cooper then pulled a gun out of his back pocket and used it to hit her several times on the head. She said he also punched her with his fist.

According to the police report, the woman fell to the ground and was briefly unconscious. The woman told police Cooper then pointed the gun at her and fired, but he missed. The woman pretended she'd been shot and began screaming that she'd been hit, hoping it would make Cooper leave. Cooper ran out of the house and drove away.

The woman said after Cooper left, she asked her friends to call the police but they refused. The woman left the house and walked to another place to call police. When officers arrived, the victim drove with them to Cooper's apartment in Del City because she didn't know his exact address.

Police found Cooper and arrested him. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of assault and battery, and domestic assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
