Northwestern Oklahoma State erupted for 30 runs to sweep of a pair of seven-inning games from Dallas Christian, Monday.

Jonathan Freemyer hit three home runs, going 4 for 9 with seven RBIs. George Mendoza and Nathaneal Hancock also collected four hits for Northwestern (13-11) which has now won three straight.

The Rangers did much of their damage early in game one, scoring 10 runs in the second inning - seven of which came with two outs - to stake a 12-1 lead.

Northwestern delivered some timely swings in that inning. Three of its five hits went for extra bases, with Michael Morales driving in the first run on an RBI triple to right. Trevor Long doubled home another and Freemyer delivered a two-run home run.

The Rangers also found success by simply leaving the bats on their shoulders. In addition to two errors, Crusader pitches struggled to find the strike zone, issuing four walks and hitting four batters in the second inning.

One particularly rough sequence for DCC pitching went: hit-by-pitch, walk,hit-by-pitch, hit-by-pitch, walk. That would force in the final four runs of the frame.

The Rangers scored six more times over their final five at bats. Camilo Baldelomar supplied a two-run home run in the fifth and Freemyer led off the seventh with a solo shot.

Baldelomar benefited from some of that run support on the mound. He earned the win, despite allowing eight runs over four innings.

DCC had pulled to within 14-8 heading into the fifth before Kyle Renbarger slammed the door with two perfect innings. He struck out five of the six batters he faced.

Daniel Bolanos finished the game out.

The Crusaders committed four errors in game one and seven more in the nightcap.Just nine of Northwestern's 30 runs were earned.

Not that the Rangers needed that much help scoring. They pounded out 11 hits in game two and scored in five of the seven innings.

Grant Mason (2-2) went five innings for the win, allowing six runs on seven hits, while striking out five Crusaders.

Northwestern led 3-0 in the third when Freemyer hit his third homer of the day to right field - a three-run shot that broke the game wide open.

The Rangers extended their lead to 11-1 in the fifth, thanks to four more walks -two of which forced in runs. Bolanos' RBI double was one of just two hits in the four-run frame.

Northwestern returns to action Tuesday with a rare split-doubleheader. The Rangers will face Central Christian (Kan.) beginning at 11 a.m. before once again facing the hosts, DCC. The second game is scheduled to begin approximately 20 minutes after the completion of game one.
