Arkansas Tech University swept Northwestern Oklahoma State, 2-1 and 1-0, Saturday evening in Great American Conference action at Chartwell's Women's Complex.

In the first game of the twinbill the Golden Suns (13-14, 8-8 GAC) opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with Jessica Black's RBI double, which made it 1-0.

Jessika Sandoval put the Rangers (9-7, 8-4 GAC) on the board in the top of the fifth with an RBI double, which tied it at 1. However, in the bottom of the inning Black's sacrifice fly gave Tech a 2-1 advantage.

Victoria Huie (7-8) subdued the Ranger offense throughout. In seven innings of duty she allowed six hits, one run and no walks, while striking out four.

Despite the loss, Allora Miller (4-4) pitched well. In six innings of duty the Fort Myers, Fla. native allowed seven hits, two runs and two walks, while striking out one.

Cheyanne Terry, Megan Bourdon, Tiffany Santistevan, Alyssa Taylor and Sandoval each went 1 for 3.

In the nightcap Kellie Mason (4-2) threw a two-hitter, but Sierra Gomez homered in the bottom of the fourth for the lone run of the game.

Rachel Keeton (3-1) silenced the Rangers' offense. Keeton allowed no runs, two hits and no walks, while striking out two in the complete game shutout.

Monica Jaramillo and Taylor recorded base hits.

Northwestern visits Missouri Southern University Monday for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
