'Dueling Pianos' To Help Raise Money For NW OK Red Cross

The Northwest Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross is hoping a little piano music will lead to a lot of donations to help disaster relief efforts.

Just recently, Red Cross volunteers were in northwest Oklahoma helping residents recover from the blizzard that dumped up to 22 inches of snow in some towns. The organization relies on donations not only to help Oklahomans impacted by natural disasters, but to educate people about health and safety.

Last fiscal year, the American Red Cross Northwest Oklahoma Chapter provided emergency family assistance to nearly 148 families across Woodward, Woods, Harper, Ellis, Dewey, Beaver, Texas and Cimarron Counties, and taught more than 3,854 people how to perform CPR, First Aid and other life-saving skills.

"Each and every day, the Red Cross mission touches lives," said executive director Mary Ann White. "The Red Cross is there for our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and we could not be there without the support of our communities."

The northwest chapter is holding a fundraiser Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Woodward Conference Center. News 9's Rusty Surette will act as emcee. The event will feature dinner and the Michael and Amy Dueling Piano Show. There will also be an auction featuring several items including a trip to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
