After a crazy first half that saw two runs of at least 18 points, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls settled down to pull away and beat the Oklahoma Sooners 83-62 in another wild Bedlam showdown Saturday.

The Cowgirls (19-7, 8-7) shot out of the gate, using a 19-1 run to take a 23-4 lead into the under-12-minute timeout in the first half, but OU refused to go down without a fight.

The Sooners (19-8, 9-6) flipped the switch, and used a 25-3 run to storm back and take a 29-26 lead with 4:19 left in the first half. OSU answered back with an 8-0 run of its own, eventually taking a 34-33 lead into the break.

The second half wasn't nearly as wild as the first, as OSU dominated the entire 20 minutes. The Cowgirls outscored OU 49-29 in the second, pulling away from a Sooners' squad that appeared to use up all its energy during its ferocious first-half comeback.

The Cowgirls' balanced effort was led by Kendra Suttles' 19 points, while Toni Young and Tiffany Bias added 17 points apiece. Liz Donahoe also scored 18 for OSU.

Aaryn Ellenberg led the Sooners with 22 points while Nicole Griffin added 12 and Nicole Kornet chipped in 10.

This is just the third time OSU has defeated the Sooners in the past 30 meetings. The Cowgirls outrebounded OU 49-36 and outscored the Sooners 34-18 in the paint.

OSU now travels to Texas Tech for a game on Wednesday, Feb. 27, while Oklahoma must prepare to host No. 1 Baylor Monday night in Norman.
