A man police say was high on synthetic marijuana "sucker punched" an officer and jumped off a Tulsa bridge early Saturday morning. Corporal Dan Miller with the Tulsa Police Department said the man was "high as a kite and just wants to fight."

Police got a citizen tip at about 4:30 a.m. that a man was on an Arkansas River bridge holding his arms out like he was ready to do a swan dive into the river, Miller told News On 6.

A responding officer found a man standing on the Riverside Bridge at Highway 75/244 in West Tulsa. The officer went up to talk to the man, thinking it was the caller.

"He sucker punches an officer and takes off running," Miller said. The man ran over 100 yards to the exit at 17th Street where he jumped to the roadway below, the officer said.

"He has been smoking some K2 tonight, which is a synthetic marijuana-type substance that's becoming pretty prevalent," Miller said.

The man did not appear to be seriously injured. Miller said the man would likely be charged with assaulting an officer and public intoxication.
