Monday night had all the makings of a big game for Oklahoma on the road in Ames, Iowa.

Unfortunately for the Sooners, the only thing big about this game ended up being the margin of defeat.

Iowa State beat OU 83-64 to improve to 13-0 at home this season in the always-difficult Hilton Coliseum, where ISU has now won 20-straight overall. The loss was a missed opportunity for Lon Kruger's squad to earn an NCAA Tourney-boosting road victory and was the Sooners' second-straight loss and third in the past four games.

The Sooners trailed by 13 at halftime and sputtered out of the gates in the second, scoring just one basket in the first seven minutes of the half as the Cyclones effectively put the game out of reach with a 25-point lead.

OU couldn't get it working on either end, shooting just 36.6 percent while allowing ISU to shoot 51 percent.

Three Sooners scored in double figures and all three came off the bench to do it. Andrew Fitzgerald led OU with 12 points while Cameron Clark and Isaiah Cousins added 10 each.

Fitzgerald, Cousins and Clark combined to go 13-for-26 (.500) from the field. The rest of the team went just 13-for-45 (.289).

ISU's torrid offense was paced by a stellar performance from guard Will Clyburn, who scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. The Cyclones also put the game out of reach from behind the 3-point line, where they converted 11-of-27 compared to just three makes in 16 tries for Oklahoma.

Iowa State improved to 16-6 on the season and 6-3 in Big 12 play while the Sooners dropped to 14-7 and 5-4.

Next up for OU is No. 5 Kansas coming to Norman at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Sooners lost the prior meeting 67-54 at KU on Jan. 26.
