Sigler Transfers To OBU Football

Former Frisco High School standout Elijah Sigler is transferring from Oklahoma to play football at Oklahoma Baptist.

He was an All-District and Second-Team All-District Academic cornerback at Frisco High under Coach Vance Gibson. The 5-10, 180-pounder can also serve as a return man.

The son of Roland Sigler III, Elijah will be a sophomore this fall after attending the University of Oklahoma. He will major in digital media arts.

Sigler chose to come to OBU for the "chance at growing in faith and being surrounded with teammates who will push my relationship with God and my performance. Nyko (Symonds) opened my eyes to OBU and God opened the doors."

Symonds is an OU transfer on the Bison football team.

Compton Signs With Bison Football

Continuing a family tradition with a new twist, Caleb Compton has signed to play football at Oklahoma Baptist.

Compton is the son of Odus and Paula Compton of Shawnee and will be a fifth-generation Bison. He will be the first of those generations to play football at OBU.

Compton, a 6-3, 232-pound defensive end and tight end, was homeschooled and was a 2012 OCSAA All-State in basketball.

A 4.0 grade point average student, Compton plans to major in exercise and sports science.
