Broken Arrow Police say they arrested two men after catching them with 11 stolen prom dresses stuffed in a trash bag.

Chyrstal's Sewing Boutique, a longtime Main Street business in Broken Arrow, was burglarized late last week. When owner Chrystal Rutherford came in to work, she found someone had forced the back door of the shop and stolen thousands of dollars worth of formal dresses she was altering for customers.

The theft happened just before many of the girls were going to wear the dresses to prom.

On Friday night, police say they captured two suspects in the burglary. Broken Arrow residents Joshua Smith, 24, and Kenneth Morris, 18, are in municipal jail - each facing one count of possession of stolen property.

Smith also faces a drug possession complaint, according to Corporal Leon Calhoun of the Broken Arrow Police Department.

Police say they pulled the two men over in a vehicle with defective equipment. They asked driver Joshua Smith for permission to search the car. When Smith agreed, officers found a large garbage bag with 11 brand new formal dresses that matched the descriptions of dresses stolen from Chrystal's Sewing Boutique, Calhoun said.

Rutherford later positively identified the items.
