A Tulsa man was arrested for his fifth DUI after leading deputies on a car chase with speeds ranging from 2 to 100 mph. Kevin Louis George had been out of prison for about two months when he was arrested Saturday morning.

George, 48, is in Tulsa County Jail on a $27,400 bond on complaints that include DUI, third or more, eluding police and possession of marijuana and cocaine.

A Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy said he first tried to pull over George's 1998 Cadillac shortly after midnight at 4800 North Harvard after seeing the car swerve from lane to lane. George pulled over the shoulder of the road, going about 2 mph then continued on 36th Street North without stopping.

George led deputies on a chase through North Tulsa throwing at least one can and styrofoam cup out the window of his car, according to the arrest report. He ran a car off the road on a U.S. Highway 75 on ramp then narrowly avoided hitting another car at North Lewis and 46 Street North.

George ran a red light at Lewis and 56th Street North at 100 mph, the deputy states.

At one point the sheriff's deputy says his car hit another patrol unit trying to avoid George's Cadillac. George finally high centered his car in a ditch off North Cincinnati near 66th Street North. The suspect tried to run but was handcuffed by the deputies, the report states.

George smelled strongly of alcohol, according to the deputy, and he had marijuana and cocaine in the car. Authorities found a Colt 45 fruit punch 32-ounce can that the deputy said George threw out the window earlier in the chase.

When deputies questioned George, he said he ran because he was scared and that he just had a few drinks at a club. He refused to take a breath test, saying, "No, I already went down for a DUI," according to the arrest report.

A search of Department of Corrections records show that Tulsa Police arrested him for DUI in November, 1999. The Highway Patrol arrested him for DUI in May, 2006, and again in November, 2006. Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies made the most recent DUI arrest, in March of 2011.
