A parent was hauled off to jail Friday morning following a physical altercation with a Putnam City campus police officer at Capps Middle School on N. Grove Avenue near the N.W. 39th Expressway.

Warr Acres police were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. The father, identified as Cody Howard, engaged in a confrontation with the officer after dropping his child off at school. It's not known what started the fight.

Police arrested Howard and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail. An EMSA ambulance transported the campus police officer to Deaconess Hospital, where he was treated and released.
