OBU Qualifies 13 At Wichita State

Oklahoma Baptist athletes met 10 automatic qualifying and three B standard marks at Wichita State's Herm Wilson Invitational Wednesday and Thursday.

Oklahoma Baptist athletes met 10 automatic qualifying and three B standard marks at Wichita State's Herm Wilson Invitational Wednesday and Thursday.

Jura Levy qualified in the 60 meters at 7.36 seconds and Stacy Warrior got an automatic standard in the 400 meters at 57.58 seconds.

Aspen Marical and Denise Coroiescu qualified for nationals in the 60 meter hurdles. Marical crossed in 8.97 seconds and Coroiescu in 9.08.

Evan Shimanek qualified in the women's pole vault, clearing 12 feet, 5.5 inches.

Taylor Moore, Levy, Shimanek and Warrior qualified in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:55.23.

On the men's side, Cordell Baker got OBU's only win of the meet, taking the mile run in an automatic qualifying time of 4:19.02.

Clay Shepperson qualified in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.57.

Andy Peffer cleared 16-1.25 in the pole vault to earn a spot in the NAIA meet.

Derik Douglas qualified in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.15 seconds, while Kenneth Combs met the B standard at 8.26. Combs also hit the B standard in the 60 meters at 6.95 seconds.

OBU's 4x400 relay team of Douglas, Travis Hinton, Shepperson and JyWayne Allen had a B standard qualifying time of 3:22.32.
