Man Critically Injured In Possible Alcohol-Related Crash In NW OKC

A driver was ejected from his truck early Thursday morning when he crashed the vehicle on Interstate 44 at the Lake Hefner Parkway.

Police say the man was trying to take the May Avenue exit just before 2 a.m. when he apparently lost control. The truck rolled over and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The man was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Police say the man was speeding. They also found bottles of alcohol at the scene.

Police shut down the exit to I-44 at the Lake Hefner Parkway for about three hours while they investigated the crash and cleared away the wreckage.

Police have not released the driver's name.
