OKC Police Arrest Injured Hit-And-Run Driver

An Oklahoma City man was arrested after fleeing the scene of an accident near Wilshire and Broadway Extension, early Christmas morning.

An Oklahoma City man was arrested after fleeing the scene of an accident near Wilshire and Broadway Extension, early Christmas morning.

According to the police report, 28-year-old Roderick Wright ran from the scene of the accident, although witnesses told police that he was badly injured. One victim in the other car was transported to a local hospital with multiple injuries.

Then, just before 5:30 a.m., police were called to a home at 6909 N. Robinson in reference to a man banging on the door, screaming for help. When police arrived they found the man, who turned out to be Wright, covered in blood.

Once police identified Wright as the owner of one of the vehicles involved in the accident they placed him under arrest. He was then transported by ambulance where he was treated for his injuries. Afterwards, Wright was booked in the Oklahoma County Jail.
