Flood Avenue Reopens In Norman Following Fatal Crash

A deadly accident killed two people Tuesday morning, and shut down a long section of a heavily-traveled road in Norman for more than six hours.

A deadly accident killed two people Tuesday morning, and shut down a long section of a heavily-traveled road in Norman for more than six hours.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of N. Flood Avenue and W. Tecumseh Road. According to Norman Police, a vehicle traveling south on Highway 77 crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with five other cars.

While police are investigating the accident, they have closed Flood Avenue between Tecumseh Road and the Interstate 35/Highway 77 exit. It reopened around 1:30 p.m.

The names of the two people killed have not been released.
