Oklahoma Baptist University assistant volleyball coach Jason Munoz has been named NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Munoz, an assistant coach for OBU since 2009, helped lead the Lady Bison to a fantastic 35-6 record and a perfect 12-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. In OBU's best volleyball season, the Lady Bison had two AVCA NAIA All-Americans for the first time in program history and set the school record for wins while advancing further in the NAIA Tournament than any other OBU volleyball squad.

A 2001 graduate of Putnam City West High School, Munoz attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning his master of education degree in sports management in 2007.

The AVCA also recently released its All-Region Team with Head Coach Anna Howle earning Midsouth Region Coach and Munoz Midsouth Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Kristin Pressley and Sabra Clark were named First-Team Midsouth Region, with Gabby Samuels and Skyler Strahm earning second team honors.

Pressley and Clark also earned AVCA NAIA All-America status.
