YUKON, Oklahoma - Our Oklahoma City Thunder players are committed to taking part in the community and helping those in need. Tuesday marks the teams 1,000th appearance.

Nick Collison and Jeremy Lamb hosted a holiday party Tuesday at the Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon.

Residents were ready with Thunder colored balloons. Lamb and Collison also took time out to talk to several people there.

"It's been great to be able to be involved in the community. I've done a lot of different appearances like this, and we have fun doing it, but more importantly we feel like we owe it to the city to get out here, and do stuff like that. We get great support from our fans here," Collison said.

Also on Tuesday, Kevin Martin stopped at Buchanan Elementary School to read books to second graders.
