Police say a man from New Mexico robbed a convenience store in northwest Oklahoma City, and then called his wife to give him a ride home.

The clerk at Express Mart at on N. Portland Avenue near N.W. 36th Street called police around 10:30 p.m. on November 23. He said two suspects had just robbed him at knifepoint.

The victim said an adult male and a juvenile entered the store. The clerk said the adult pretended he wanted to buy some DVDs, but soon pulled out a knife, shoved the clerk into a corner and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk gave the money to the adult. The suspect also grabbed some lottery tickets, and he and the juvenile ran from the store.

Shortly after police arrived, they were flagged down by a woman who was looking for her husband and brother. She told officers that her husband, 23-year-old Randy Ceniceros, had called her and asked her to pick him and her 12-year-old brother up from a nearby shopping center. The woman said from the sound of the call, she thought her husband may need help or medical attention.

Police said they quick realized Ceniceros and his young brother-in-law were suspects in the convenience store robbery. They searched the area and located the two about three blocks away, hiding under a car in a driveway.

When questioned, Ceniceros told police a homeless man forced him to rob the convenience store. He claimed the man pointed a gun at him, gave him a knife, and told him to "get me some money" or he would kill Ceniceros.

When police spoke to Ceniceros' 12-year-old brother-in-law, the boy told another story. He said Ceniceros, who was visiting Oklahoma City with his wife for the Thanksgiving holiday, forced him to go for a walk. He said once they left the home, Ceniceros said he wanted to rob a business. The juvenile said the two walked around for a while, and looked at several locations before Ceniceros decided to rob the Express Mart. The juvenile said he didn't want to participate, but Ceniceros forced him.

Police arrested Ceniceros and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of armed robbery. Police decided not to arrest the boy.
