The SandRidge Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will be held next Friday. The event will kick off this year's "Downtown In December" holiday celebration in Oklahoma City.
The Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, outdoors at Mickey Mantle Drive and Flaming Lips Alley, across the street from the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Mayor Mick Cornett and Santa Claus will flip the switch to light the Christmas tree at 7 p.m. Friday.
In addition to the lighting of the SandRidge Christmas Tree, the festival will feature live music, photos with Santa, snacks and free Water Taxi rides.
"This is our sixth year to partner with Downtown OKC, Inc. and it's been exciting to be involved with these wonderful holiday events," said SandRidge Vice President of Communications and Community Relations, Greg Dewey. "SandRidge is proud to be a part of the downtown community and participate in Downtown in December. It's a great way to celebrate the season with our neighbors."
The SandRidge Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is part of a 40-day series of events, most of which are offered free of charge to the community. These events include the Devon Ice Rink at the Myriad Gardens, Chesapeake Energy Snow Tubing, Devon's Saturdays with Santa, and more.
