Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a body found in a burned home in Shawnee Friday morning.

Police are holding 22-year-old Joseph Neay on a complaint of murder and arson in the death of the victim,  Marty Lee Jones.

Investigators from both the Shawnee Police Department and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are searching for evidence after finding Jones' body in a burned home.

The body was found around 11:00 a.m. Friday at a home in the 700 block of E. 11th Street in Shawnee. That's just southwest of E. Highland Street and N. Harrison Avenue.

Firefighters were called to the house to put out a fire. When they arrived at the home, they found the body.

People living nearby say a couple lived inside the home, but that the wife had recently moved out.

Police say they have recovered a weapon, a knife, that they believed was used in the murder. Charges are still pending.

Neay is being held without bond. Police are issuing a search warrant for the home the suspect was living in. Police say suspect is a stepson of the Victim. They do not believe anyone else is involved in the murder, but say the Investigation is still ongoing.

Police say it appears Jones was killed first and then a fire was set to cover up the crime. The body is being sent to the ME's office for cause of death.
