Oklahoma State had four players earn 2012 All-Big 12 Conference honors, while two players were on the league's All-Newcomer Team, it was announced by the Big 12 office on Monday.

Highlighting OSU's list of All-Big 12 performers is senior goalkeeper AD Franch, who was named to the All-Big 12 First Team for the fourth time in her career. She becomes the first player in Cowgirl soccer history to earn first-team all-conference honors four times and is just the seventh in Big 12 history to earn that distinction.

Three Cowgirls earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors – senior forward Megan Marchesano, senior defender Carson Michalowski and freshman midfielder Madison Mercado.

Michalowski becomes a three-time All-Big 12 performer as she was a second-team honoree in 2010 and a first teamer last season, while Marchesano earned a spot on the second team for the second consecutive year.

Mercado was also named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team and was joined on that list by freshman defender Kelsey Bass.

Franch owns nearly every goalkeeping record at OSU, having recorded 38 shutouts and a 0.66 goals against average during her career. This season, she has notched six shutouts, 76 saves and a 0.97 goals against average.

Along with Franch, Michalowski has helped anchor some of the NCAA's best defenses over the past four seasons. As a center back, she has played in 92 games in her career, and OSU has recorded 48 shutouts in those games.

Marchesano is one of the top scorers in OSU history and is capping her career with her best season yet. In 2012, she leads the Cowgirls with 11 goals and 25 points, both of which rank in the top five in the Big 12. She is also tied for the league lead with five game-winning goals. Marchesano ranks in the top 10 on the program's career charts in goals, assists, points and shots.

In her first collegiate season, Mercado is OSU's second leading scorer with 10 points on four goals and two assists. She has started all 19 games for the Cowgirls this season, showing her versatility as both a midfielder and forward.

Rounding out OSU's list of Big 12 honorees is Bass, another freshman who has started every game this season and helped solidify a defense that has recorded six shutouts and allowed just over one goal per game. Bass has also notched a goal and two assists.
