We are just hours away from a big football weekend. OU takes on Notre Dame Saturday evening.

A lot of people are getting ready now. Some people are already staking out their tailgating spots.

All the festivities officially kick off Saturday morning at 8 a.m. ESPN college game day is in town, they will broadcast from the south oval. The stage is already set up and ready to go.

Fans are also gearing up for what is being touted as an historic game. The game is supposed to be a stipe out, which means those in even numbered sections are supposed to wear crimson, in odd numbered sections, white.

At Fan Outfitters in Moore, they also had special shirts printed up for just this occasion.

If you plan on coming out, bring warm clothes, it's supposed to be 28 degrees at 8 a.m., bring your sooner spirit, and bring your signs.

Here are some of the things you can't bring:

  • Food and drink, don't bring a cocktail
  • Vulgar signs
  • Signs that include dom com, dot net, or dot org
  • Religious and political signs
  • Book bags, purses or bags
  • Markers pens and pencils and dry erase boards

But the excitement isn't just here in Norman. We caught up with the Notre Dame marching band playing in Oklahoma City.

Notre Dame's famous marching band was already doing some performing Friday. Those coming to the game on Saturday will see the Notre Dame marching band perform.

But on Friday, the band put on a special performance for the patients and staff of the Children's Center in Bethany. Eight-year-old Jada Dooley, a patient at the center, had the honor of blowing the whistle to start things off.

About 400 members of the band of the Fighting Irish, as they are known, performed Friday afternoon. That includes band members, the Notre dame cheerleaders, and even the mascot.

The Children's Center is a rehab hospital for children with complex physical and medical disabilities.

Some of children were even asked to march along.

All the festivities will move here to Norman beginning bright and early Friday morning. ESPN game day will be broadcasting live beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.
