NORMAN -- Court documents reveal new details about a man accused of killing a woman inside her Norman home.

Mary Benavidez was found shot in the chest last week. Documents show the suspect, Dustin Allen, went there to see her son.

While the Cleveland County District Attorney's office is building its murder case against Allen, Thursday News 9 found court records on Allen showing signs of apparent violence, even against his own daughter.

In April, Dustin Allen's wife filed for divorce after she and her mother-in-law filed protective orders against him.

According to the first report, Allen allegedly sent his ex-wife a picture of blood running down his face, after his mother-in-law claims he put a hole in a wall at her home and smashed her mailbox.

Then just a couple weeks later, Allen's wife filed a protective order against him for herself and their daughter, who was only 3 months old at the time. They were due for a court hearing, but in the protective order she claimed, "Dustin told me the night before that if I showed up for the hearing, he would kill me and our baby."

In another protective order filed last month, Allen's ex-wife said Dustin wasn't abiding by the previous VPO. She wrote, " I do not feel Dustin is mentally stable or sane to care for our 7-month-old daughter."

Last week, just after the murder of Mary Benavidez, investigators say her son saw Allen leaving his mother's home where she was shot and killed.

Allen is being held without bail in the Cleveland County Detention Center. He's due in court Friday morning.
