Man Accused In Murder Of Norman Elderly Man Pleads Guilty

A man accused in the death of an elderly man in Norman enters a guilty plea in the case.

Fifty-nine-year-old Billy Battenfield pleads guilty to the murder of Clair Owen Pollard. Pollard died in his Norman home back in 2011.

Before a Cleveland County Judge Wednesday morning, Battenfield entered the guilty plea as part of an agreement reached with state. Prosecutors took the death penalty off of the table in exchange for a guilty plea and life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Battenfield also waived his right to appeal, as well as, rights to commutation, pardon and parole of his sentence.
