Bethany Police investigate two home invasions in one week. The most recent home invasion happened in a neighborhood near N.W. 50th Street and Rockwell Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Monday. Police say the two suspects have been on the run since then and they need everyone to be on the lookout for a black man and a white man, both in their early 20's who are driving a red Ford Focus with a paper license tag.

While investigators try to track down the suspects, the elderly victim is sending out a warning to others.

Allen Oakley answered a knock at the door that led to a fight for his life but he still greeted News9 with a smile when we stopped by to talk about the frightening situation.

"I heard a knock on the door and I opened it, first mistake," Oakley laughs.

When two men showed up on his doorstep, Oakley says they asked for Mary or Jimmy. When Oakley told the men no one by those names live at his house, the men attacked Oakley.

"One guy just let go and smashed me right there [in the face]," he recalled.

Next, the men forced their way into Oakley's home. Once inside, Oakley remembers one intruder beating him while the other looked for something to steal.

"Finally I was able to get him off of me and I ran next door," he said.

Oakley's neighbor called police for help. During the 911 call, the frantic neighbor is heard screaming, "you can get shot come on get in," as the two men drove away with a stolen guitar.

When police arrived they found Oakley with a black eye, bruises, and a missing tooth. Now Oakley is offering advice to everyone ,"just tell some folk not to answer the door and make sure the gun is loaded."

Oakley and his neighbors got a good look at the suspects and say they could recognize the men. One of the two men left behind a necklace lost in the scuffle and investigators are now having it tested for DNA evidence.

Bethany police do not believe this home invasion or the one on Saturday are connected because the suspect descriptions are different but if you have any information about either case call Bethany Police at 789-2323.
