The RedHawks got a valliant pitching effort from Brett Oberholtzer, but couldn't get the bats gong Monday night in a 2-1 loss to the Round Rock Express.

Oberholtzer pitched 7 2/3 innings for OKC, allowing just two earned runs and striking out seven, but was out-dueled by Round Rock's Martin Perez, who pitched a complete game, allowing only one unearned run and striking out five.

Round Rock's offense got busy in the first inning when Luis Hernandez smoked a one-out double to left field. Matt Kata followed that up with a double of his own to drive in Hernandez and put Round Rock up 1-0.

The Express got back at it in the fifth when Brandon Snyder hit a two-out double to right field. That was followed by Julio Borbon's RBI double to put Round Rock up 2-0.

The RedHawks got on the board in the sixth on a Jimmy Paredes RBI single, but could manage nothing more.

The loss comes one day after manager Tony DeFrancesco was promoted to interim manager of the Houston Astros. This is the team's first loss under new manager Tom Lawless.
