Former Oklahoma State offensive lineman Michael Bowie was announced as a new addition to the Northeastern State University football team on Wednesday.

NSU coach Kenny Evans confirmed the addition of Bowie in a press release.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy announced last week that Bowie was no longer with the Cowboys after an undisclosed violation of team rules. Bowie made five starts at left tackle for OSU during its Big 12 championship season in 2011. He also played in 12 of the 13 contests a season ago, never allowing a sack.

Bowie originally signed with the Cowboys out of Sand Springs, Okla., but ended up spending his first two seasons at Navarro Junior College in Texas.

The 6-foot-4, 325-pounder was slated to be the Cowboys' starting left tackle in 2012. Since his dismissal from the program, OSU has moved junior Parker Graham from right tackle to the left side.
