Multiple fire crews worked in unison to stomp out grass fires at 151st and Etowah Rd. in Cleveland County, Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Slaughterville, Noble, Little Axe and Cedar County VFD all responded to the scene.

This fire appears to be a rekindle from the fires that scorched much of the area over the weekend.

Representatives with the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, FEMA and U.S. Small Business Administration will join local emergency managers to conduct preliminary damage assessments in Cleveland, Creek, Oklahoma and Payne counties for potential federal disaster assistance on Thursday.

The teams will work to determine the uninsured losses and needs of those whose homes and businesses sustained damage.

About 9,000 acres have been charred because of the recent rash of wildfires.
