Crews Contain Large Wildfire In Lincoln County

Fire crews are responding a large wildfire burning in Lincoln County about six miles south and six miles east of the town of Stroud, Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews are responding a large wildfire burning in Lincoln County about six miles south and six miles east of the town of Stroud, Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters from the Stroud, Arlington, and Sparks fire departments are on scene battling the blaze.

According to emergency management approximately 2,000 acres have burned. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

The Associated Press reports that the fire is under control at this time. 

Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Joey Wakefield says firefighters were still battling the flames and that there were no injuries or homes burned, according to AP.

SkyNews9 also assisted the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in locating some persons of interest who were seen leaving the area of a RV fire at an oil depot. Troopers are questioning those people at this time.
