OG&E is reporting thousands of customers without power Tuesday evening. Severe weather moved through the metro just after 5 p.m. bringing thunder, lightning and finally some rain.

However, more than 12,000 customers are without power. Cities affected include Piedmont, Warr Acres, north Oklahoma City Edmond and Midwest City.

Power crews are responding to power poles down in Piedmont and in Oklahoma City at 164th Street and Rockwell Avenue. MacArthur is closed at 160th Street and 164th Street is closed from Rockwell to Meridian. OG&E has several transmission lines down, so nobody is allowed in or out of the neighborhoods in the area.

Around 37 people were evacuated from 27 homes in the Still Meadows subdivision located at 160th Street and MacArthur Boulevard. According to OG&E the evacuated homes were hit by the power lines or sustained some sort of damage.
