Volunteers are needed at the Christmas Connection located at 5728 S. May at the corner of S.W. 59th Street and May Avenue to help with donations for the victims of the recent wildfires.

Due to an overwhelming response to the call for donated items, Christmas Connection needs volunteers to help sort the items, hang and size clothing and stock the shelves. All donations collected at the Oklahoma County drop off sites are delivered to Christmas Connection for distribution.

Christmas Connection has a year-round program for crisis relief to aid low income families when they have a loss due to fire or storms. Families and senior citizens in need of assistance are referred directly to Christmas Connection by the Red Cross and local fire departments. The families are able to shop in a store environment at no cost and personally select items they need to begin rebuilding their lives.

Store hours are Monday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday, August 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

People who wish to help are asked to visit the Christmas Connection website at and select the "Volunteer" icon or call 405-634-2006.
