OKC Police: Mom Fled From Officers, Hid In Bushes With Child

Police arrested an Oklahoma City mother accused of speeding through a school zone and fleeing from police.

An officer reported seeing 24-year-old suspect Jimi Harvey on Thursday, August 2, driving too fast through a school zone near S.W. 65th Street and Penn. The officer said when he tried to pull over Harvey, she sped up.

The suspect soon crashed into a house in the 1500 block of S.W. 61st Street. The crash sparked a fire, but police said Harvey didn't stick around.

According to police, Harvey grabbed a child who was in the car and ran. She took the child and hid behind a bush.

Police found Harvey and the child. Harvey was arrested.
