Environmental officials have declared Thursday, Aug. 2, an Ozone Alert Day and passengers ride fare free on Cleveland Area Rapid Transit (CART).

All routes, except CART's Sooner Express runs to Oklahoma City, will be fare free. The Sooner Express is a shared route with METROtransit of Oklahoma City. Passengers will ride free on both CART and CARTaccess, the origin-to-destination service for the elderly and disabled.

Air quality concerns prompted officials to alert the public of increased levels of air pollution in the central Oklahoma region. Automobiles and gasoline-powered engines are one source of these pollutants, so residents are encouraged to reduce air pollution by riding the bus.
