Edmond police and the FBI say an armed bank robber hid and waited for a bank employee Tuesday morning, then forced the worker to let him inside the business.

The employee arrived at IBC Bank at 421 S. Santa Fe at approximately 7:30 a.m. The worker told investigators a man with a large knife walked from behind a vehicle in the parking lot, approached, and demanded entry into the bank.

Once inside the bank, the robber forced three employees to open a teller drawer and the vault. He stole an unknown amount of cash, put the money in a backpack, tried to lock the bank employees inside a vault, then left the building through the south doors.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

The FBI is reviewing surveillance video from the robbery. Agents say the suspect is a black male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, and 160 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored zip-up jacket, dark shirt, blue jeans, light gray knit cap, and white New Balance tennis shoes. He also wore a white bandana over his face and gloves on his hands.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery should contact the FBI at (405) 290-7770
