Tulsa Police took a man into custody in a stabbing at the Trade Winds Inn, 3141 East Skelly Drive. They say a witness chased down the 26-year-old suspect after a fight at about 3 a.m. Saturday.

"Some sort of a domestic altercation had occurred in a hotel room which resulted in the stabbing," said Sergeant Thomas Bell with the Tulsa Police Department.

The 34-year-old man was stabbed once in the abdomen, according to Sergeant Thomas Bell with the Tulsa Police Department. The victim ran from the hotel and made it to Harvard and Skelly Drive where he encountered an EMSA crew responding to the scene.

The suspect also ran from the Trade Winds, and a witness chased him down and detained him until police arrived, the officer said.

"It appears that the victim, the suspect and the witness all sustained some type of injury during the altercation," Bell said.

Police say the witness had injuries to his hand and jaw.

The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. He is expected to recover.
